The Galaxy Browser gives you a way to browse and search through all the star systems Captain's Log has on file - not just the ones on your current trip, but everything you've ever scanned and imported, all held in the central GALAXY.db database.
Click the Galaxy button at the top of the main window and the browser loads your whole collected exploration data into a table. Each row shows:
The Galaxy button stays disabled until the galaxy database has finished loading into the table, so give it a moment on first open.
Type into the search box at the top right and press RETURN. Captain's Log searches both the System Notes and the System Name columns for what you typed.

The full table is replaced by the matching results. In the example above, a search for a system name brings up the systems with their star and planet counts and their notes.
Click on any result and Captain's Log brings up that system's data - stars, planets, the works - in the main window panels, so you can have a look at a system you discovered ages ago without having to fly back to it.
When you're done with a search, click Clear Results to go back to the full list, ready for another search. Exiting the Galaxy Browser brings back the live system you were on in the Jump Table before you opened it.
